Stall Supervisor (On-site)

We operate a growing network of fresh-produce stalls that connect smallholder farmers to urban customers. We value reliability, excellent customer service, and clean financial controls.

Role summary

You will run daily stall operations, ensure excellent customer experience, manage stock presentation and basic inventory, and securely handle takings. You are the face of the stall and the first point of contact for customers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

  • Open and close the stall according to SOP (cash float, till set-up, security checks).
  • Serve customers and drive sales with friendly, efficient service.
  • Merchandize and display stock to maintain freshness and appeal.
  • Record daily sales, complete basic inventory counts, and log spoilage/returns.
  • Handle cash, mobile money and POS transactions; reconcile takings each shift.
  • Prepare the daily cash pack and follow deposit procedures or hand-off to Collections Officer.
  • Record and escalate customer complaints and supplier issues to the Area Manager.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards for produce handling.

Requirements (must-haves)

  • High School diploma (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 1 year retail/market/stall experience (preferably perishable produce).
  • Trustworthy with good references; willing to follow cash-handling procedures.
  • Basic numeracy and experience with mobile-money or mobile banking apps.
  • Reliable, punctual, able to work early mornings and weekends as needed.

KPIs (what we measure)

  • Daily sales accuracy, timely deposits, and low shrinkage/spoilage.
